Evan Lehnert is a true competitor who is always looking to improve. Evan is a great player and even better teammate. He invests in himself, but more importantly the team. Evan has a tremendous work ethic and is very coachable. Lehnert is the type of guy you want to have in your dugout as a coach.
As a 15-year-old, Lehnert shined this summer on the mound as he settled in as the Hodgen Distributing 17 U’s ace pitcher. Lehnert posted an impressive 6-1 win-loss record on the hill, with a 2.27 ERA. Lehnert capped off his summer with a tremendous complete game performance, giving up only one earned run and three walks. In 37 innings pitched this summer, Lehnert amassed 39 strikeouts to only 10 total walks. Lehnert was very efficient for Hodgen Distributing, giving up only 0.27 walks per inning and a WHIP (walks + hits per inning pitched) of 1.162.
Lehnert also was a key contributor in the field and at the plate for Hodgen. Playing both infield and outfield, Lehnert was somebody Hodgen could count on to make a play when they needed it. Offensively, Lehnert contributed in big ways posting a .298 batting, and he hit an impressive .354 with runners in scoring position. Lehnert also compiled an on base percentage of .403 and had a high contact percentage of 84.21%.
