Mac Vandegrift

I am a two-sport athlete who carries a 4.0 GPA and has 2 years of starting at varsity baseball for Reno High (Soph and Junior). In high school, my varsity baseball team made the 5A state championship game the last two years in a row.  In each year, I started all games at 3B and was named all-conference HM as a sophomore and 2nd team as a Junior.  I was also voted 2x to the high school all-star team. Last summer, I pitched for the Reno Knights and was 9 and 1 and the winning pitcher of the American Legion Nevada State Championship game (the Reno Knights' first American Legion State Championship in 30 years).  I was also the winning pitcher in the Chico Father's Day Classic Championship game, where I pitched a shutout and was named Tournament MVP.   I also pitched a shutout against Faith Lutheran in the Boras Classic at the beginning of this Spring season.

In football, I was First Team All-Conference at DL, leading the team in sacks and net yards lost on TFL's.

I love to play baseball. It never becomes a job or hard work for me, I just like to be around my teammates. I like showing up and getting better every day. I can handle failure and adversity well, I just want to show up and compete. I will do anything I can to help any team I am on win. I am not a problem in the classroom, I will always get my work done on time and to the best of my ability in and out of the classroom.
