Player Bio
Carson Herrick began playing baseball for Northshore Little League at the age of 4. He moved through NSLL program quickly and was on the Majors level at the age of 9. In 2019 at age 10, Carson won 2nd place in WA state Pitch, Hit and Run hosted at Safeco Field. Carson was on NSLL All Star team for 4 years. During Little League years, community baseball, Carson trained on Black Socks select program under his father’s coaching, beginning at the age of 7 playing on 9u squad. And at the same time, Carson played on the Husky select team to garner the advantages of other coaching styles with additional opportunities to fit in with a new neighborhood of kids playing ball. Carson moved to Dragons Elite Baseball in Bellevue at the age of 9, placed on 11u team. Last year, 2023 at the age of 13, Carson assisted Dragon's 18u team in over 15 of their games during the season and into the playoffs playing LF, 3B, SS, Pitching and Batting. Carson's high school career started this year as a freshman at Bothell High School playing the entire season on Varsity. Through most of the 2024 baseball season, Carson was #1 for his ERA in Kingco 4A and #8 in State. After playoffs Carson was 4th in KingCo with an ERA of 1.17 and 29th for Strikeouts.. Carson was reliable and intricate part of Bothell High School making it to Sate and winning 3rd Place WA 4a hosted in Pasco. Currently, June 20th 2024, Carson is 14 playing on the Dragons Elite 16u, SS and pitcher with a batting average of .378. As Carson’s father I’m proud, but as coach and old codger I’m pragmatic. Carson is very coachable. But he’s that special kind of kid who coaches as much as he is coached. He comfortably slides into any team and any age group, younger or older. He’s kind, quick to make friends, improve the atmosphere and elevate the level of play. He’s gifted with hand-eye and blessed with height. But Carson’s ball sense is all is own. And that’s what's most exceptional - when the ball is in play, Carson dances inside the game. We didn’t rush Carson forward. Carson placed himself on teams above his age and size because Carson plays better, with better focus and performance, inside a game with higher levels of skill and competition which is for sports psychologists to figure out. And for who ever coaches him from here to enjoy and build on. Carson’s ceiling is high.
