2017 Junior Northwest Championships: Class of 2021-2022
This is the 7th year of the Northwest Championship Tournament for the incoming freshmen and 8th grade classes, commonly called the Junior Northwest Championships. It is the “little brother” to the long-standing Northwest Championships which is largest event of its kind in the Northwest region, drawing 600+ of the region’s top athletes to compete against each other and the largest collection of college recruiters and professional scouts to observe an amateur baseball event in the Northwest. Though the younger age groups do not attract a large amount of college recruiters and scouts, Baseball Northwest believes there is value in younger athletes competing against top level talent outside their local area and gaining experience in showcase tournament atmospheres.
The 7th annual Northwest Championships for the grad classes 2021-2022 will be held at the Borst Park Sports Complex in Centralia, WA on Thursday, August 17th – Sunday, August 20th.
This tournament includes 12 Baseball Northwest-selected teams from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana/Wyoming.
The tournament begins on Thursday, August 17th, with a pro-style workout scheduled for each team. Each team has a 5 game guarantee, with games beginning on Thursday afternoon and continuing through placing games on Sunday, August 20th.
Baseball Northwest’s 12 teams are selected for this tournament from regional Prospect Evaluation Camps. Players are invited to the June and July one day Prospect Evaluation Camps by recommendations from professional scouts, college coaches, selected high school coaches, and Baseball Northwest personnel. All high school coaches are sent recommendation forms to nominate players for consideration. Players can nominate themselves for consideration by emailing Baseball Northwest through the web site.
Invitations for the Northwest Championship Tournament will go out to players via email after each Prospect Evaluation Camp. You must receive an invitation to register for this event.
